Needle-made laces
A lacemaking instruction manual by Thérèse de Dillmont, issued about 1890 by the thread manufacturer Dollfus-Mieg in Mulhouse, Alsace, for needleworkers following its stitch sequences. Plates pair finished square medallions photographed pale against black grounds with fine white line diagrams of their geometric scaffolding, giving compass-built rosettes, radiating petals and knotted grids usable as monochrome pattern and construction drawing.
