New games and amusements for young and old alike
A 1905 children's activity manual by Meredith Nugent, illustrated by Victor J. Smedley and published in New York by Doubleday, Page, instructing young readers and parents in homemade toys, kites, and parlor games. Wash-tone and pen drawings show kites rigged with labelled lines, spinning discs, balanced paper contraptions, and silhouetted figures mid-play, useful for diagram-style line art and soft grey halftone textures.
