Nicolas Poussin, his life and work
A monograph on the French painter Nicolas Poussin by American art historian Elisabeth Harriet Denio, published in London in 1899 for art students and general readers. Plates are halftone and photogravure reproductions of paintings and drawings, sideways on the page, showing robed figures grouped in landscapes, nymphs and satyrs under trees, and dim interiors; useful for soft tonal masses and classical figure arrangements.
