Notice de la sculpture antique du Musée Impérial du Louvre
A catalogue of the antique sculpture in the Louvre, written by the curator Wilhelm Froehner and printed in Paris in 1878 for museum visitors and classical scholars. Its line-engraved figures record Greek and Roman marbles and terracottas one object at a time: draped standing statues on plinths, processional relief friezes, a zodiac-inscribed funerary relief with Latin lettering, useful as outline silhouettes, hatched stone texture and antique drapery patterns.
