A departmental catalogue of the Louvre's enamels and goldwork, compiled by Alfred Darcel and Émile Molinier and printed in Paris in 1883 for curators, collectors and museum visitors. The plates are wood-engraved line work: numbered schematic outlines keying enamel plaques to reliquary and casket shapes, circular Latin inscriptions traced from object rims, facsimile signatures, plus blue-and-brown marbled endpapers usable as ornament frames, lettered rings and texture fills.
