Giambattista Verci's biographical dictionary of the painters, sculptors and engravers of Bassano, printed in Venice by Giovanni Gatti in 1775 for collectors, connoisseurs and local antiquarians. Copperplate frontispieces show artists at work in the studio with winged figures bearing portrait medallions, while the letterpress carries woodcut headpieces, foliate tailpieces and initials framed in flowers usable as ornament stock.
