Nouvelle mythologie illustrée
A popular French survey of Greek and Roman myth by the poet Jean Richepin, issued in Paris by the Librairie de France in 1920 for general readers rather than scholars. Its plates copy antiquities: clean outline redrawings of red-figure vase scenes and marble reliefs alongside halftones, giving designers isolated nude and draped figures, winged Erotes, helmets, shields, spears and column-and-altar props on empty grounds.
