Numismata imperatorum romanorum praestantiora a Julio Caesare ad Postumum usque per Joannem Vaillant
A catalogue of Roman imperial coinage compiled by the French antiquary Jean Foy-Vaillant and printed at Rome in 1743 for collectors, antiquaries and cabinet keepers. Each entry is engraved as two linked roundels, an emperor's profile bust with a circular legend joined by a short bar to a reverse showing enthroned deities, trophies, Victories or crowd scenes, giving designers ready-made medallion frames, letter-spaced circular lettering and small figure groups in line.
