Nuova descrizione del Vaticano, o sia, della sacrosanta basilica di S. Pietro
A three-volume Italian guide to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican palaces by Giovanni Pietro Chattard, printed in Rome by the Barbiellini heirs in 1762 for clergy, antiquarians and visitors to the basilica. Engraved plates give elevations, sections and ground plans of chapels, altars and facades with keyed reference numbers, while the letterpress carries woodcut headpieces and tailpieces of scrolled cartouches, shells and acanthus foliage usable as rules, frames and vignette ornament.
