Nuova raccolta d'autori, che trattano del moto dell'acque
A multi-volume Italian collection of treatises on the motion of water, printed at Parma by Francesco Carmignani in 1766 for engineers and mathematicians working on rivers and canals. The plates indexed here are the book's letterpress woodcut ornaments rather than its diagrams: symmetrical tailpieces and headbands built from rocaille scrollwork, lidded urns, flower baskets and spiky leaf sprays, cut in coarse parallel hatching that reproduces well at small sizes as rules, dividers and spot ornaments.
