Plates from Champollion's record of Egyptian and Nubian monuments, lithographed by Kaeppelin and issued in Paris by Firmin Didot from 1835 for scholars and subscribers of the French state. Outline lithographs copy temple wall reliefs at Karnak, Edfu and Derr: gods, kings, barques, cartouches and hieroglyph columns, drawn as clean contour line usable as silhouettes, borders or ornament.
