Los desastres de la guerra
Francisco Goya's Los desastres de la guerra is a suite of 75 etchings with aquatint made in Spain from 1810, recording executions, famine and atrocity during the Peninsular War and printed for collectors decades after his death. The plates set pale figures against broad fields of dark aquatint, with bare horizons, roped and bound bodies, and engraved captions beneath each scene.
