A plate series on women's dress through history, drawn by Paul Louis de Giafferri with the illustrators Elvey and Nab and issued in 1926 by Foreign Publications for costume researchers, designers and theatrical dressmakers. Each sheet arrays standing figures in flat colour against bare paper, numbered and keyed to captions below, covering ancient Egyptian pleated linen and headdresses, veiled and trousered modern Egyptian women, and painted border ornament \u2014 usable as cut-out figures, pattern strips and colour palettes.
