The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt and Nubia. From drawings made on the spot by David Roberts ... With historical descriptions by the Revd. George Croly ... Lithographed by Louis Haghe
A six-volume folio of topographical views, drawn on the spot by David Roberts in 1838–39, lithographed by Louis Haghe with texts by George Croly, issued to London subscribers by F.G. Moon from 1842. Tinted lithographs show ruined temples, colossi, rock-cut tombs and desert encampments, with robed figures and camels giving scale — useful for architectural silhouettes and sparse tonal landscape backgrounds.
