A costume plate book issued in London by Thomas Jefferys in 1757, compiling and re-engraving dress figures after Hans Weigel, the comte de Ferriol's Levantine series and Jean-Baptiste Le Prince, sold to British readers curious about foreign and historic clothing. Each page holds a single hand-coloured figure standing on a small patch of ground against blank paper, captioned in English and French, with strong flat colour in the robes and cloaks and fine engraved line in headdresses, fur trim and embroidery.
