Zoological and botanical plates from the official account of Dumont d'Urville's Pacific voyage aboard the corvette Astrolabe, published in Paris by J. Tastu from 1830 for naturalists and subscribers to French state expedition reports. Hand-coloured engravings arrange shells, molluscs, insects and plant parts in grids on bare cream paper, each numbered against a caption key, giving isolated specimen silhouettes and muted shell colour.
