An antiquarian report on the excavations at Herculaneum by the French engraver Charles-Nicolas Cochin and architect Jérôme-Charles Bellicard, published in Paris in 1755 for connoisseurs and architects following the new Vesuvian finds. Etched plates pair measured plans and sections of tombs and vaulted chambers with copies of wall paintings, mosaics, lamps and moulding profiles, giving designers hatched architectural diagrams and small framed figure panels.
