Occasio Arrepta. Neglecta. Hvivs Commode; Illivs incommoda
A Latin Jesuit emblem book by Jan David on Occasion taken and Occasion neglected, engraved by Theodoor Galle and printed at the Plantin press of Jan Moretus in Antwerp, 1605, for Counter-Reformation schools and preachers. Alongside emblem plates come the Plantin compass-and-hand device with flanking allegorical figures and woodcut initials peopled by climbing figures, birds, and strapwork foliage.
