Octoginta emblemata moralia nova : e sacris literis petita, formandis ad veram pietatem accommodata, & elegantibus picturis aeri incisis repraesentata
An emblem book of eighty moral emblems drawn from scripture, written by the German Lutheran theologian Daniel Cramer and printed in Latin at Frankfurt by Lucas Jennis in 1630 for devout and learned readers. Each plate is a round engraving set in a square block with cross-hatched corner spandrels, showing single peasant or pilgrim figures in landscapes with cottages, trees, bonfires and beams of light, useful for roundel frames, figure silhouettes and fine linear shading.
