Octoginta emblemata moralia nova, e sacris literis petita, formandis ad veram pietatem accommodata, & elegantibus picturis aeri incisis repraesentata
A Latin emblem book of eighty moral devices drawn from scripture, written by the Lutheran theologian Daniel Cramer and printed at Frankfurt by Lucas Jennis in 1630 for devotional and school reading. Each plate is a small copper engraving set in a plain ruled circle within a hatched square, showing single figures in seventeenth-century dress acting out a proverb among barrels, ruins, fish, pretzels and bee-hung trees, useful for roundel formats, corner-hatched frames and compact genre vignettes.
