A Portuguese critical essay on genius, talent and pathology written by the anthropologist Antonio Augusto Mendes Corrêa and printed in Porto in 1911 for doctors and alienists interested in art made by the mentally ill. The plates reproduce patients' drawings from the Hospital do Conde Ferreira alongside crayon portraits and dim halftone landscapes, offering loose graphite hatching, floating disconnected figures, and numbered Portuguese figure captions.
