Ohio archæological and historical publications
A serial of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society, issued in Columbus from 1887 for members and antiquarian readers reporting on mounds, earthworks and state history. The plates are coarse-screened halftone photographs of fields, hedgerows and low earth mounds, several with small standing figures for scale, giving heavy grain, flat grey tonal ranges and simple horizon-band compositions usable as textures and silhouette backdrops.
