Ohio archæological and historical publications
A volume of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society's serial publications, issued in Columbus from 1887 by F. J. Heer for the society's members and local historians. The plates are coarse-screened halftone field photographs of Ohio river bluffs, ruined stone mounds, roadside tree lines and plain brick farmhouses, grey and low in contrast, useful as period landscape texture, ready-made grain, and blank sky areas for overprinting.
