Ohio archæological and historical quarterly
A scholarly journal issued by the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society from Columbus beginning in 1887, carrying county histories, antiquarian reports and biographical notices for members and local historians. The plates are halftone portraits of nineteenth-century men in dark coats and white collars, many set in oval vignettes that fade into mottled grey grounds, useful for coarse-screen halftone texture, oval frame shapes and period likenesses.
