Ohio archæological and historical quarterly
Ohio Archaeological and Historical Quarterly is the journal of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society, issued from Columbus beginning in 1887 for members, local historians, and antiquarians. The plates are coarse-screen halftones: rock shelters and cave overhangs photographed in deep shadow, and stone axes, mortars, and incised tablets shot against blank grounds, giving designers grainy black masses and isolated silhouetted artifacts.
