Ohio archæological and historical quarterly
A scholarly quarterly issued by the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society from Columbus beginning in 1887, carrying state history papers, antiquarian reports and society proceedings for members and local historians. The plates here are coarse halftone portraits of older white men in dark suits and high collars, head-and-shoulders or profile against black grounds, useful for heavy dot-grain texture, vignetted oval and rectangular framing, and stock nineteenth-century portrait silhouettes.
