A scholarly journal issued from 1887 by the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society in Columbus, reporting mound excavations and state history for members and antiquarians. Halftone plates show single stone artifacts—axes, blades, notched points, carved faces—photographed against plain paper, printed coarsely enough that the screen dot and grainy silhouette become the dominant texture.
