Ohrt Trylleord Fremmede Og Danske

Ohrt, Ferdinand 1873-1938 · 1922 · 8 pictures

A study of magic charms and spells, foreign and Danish, by the Danish folklorist Ferdinand Ohrt, published in Copenhagen in 1922 for readers of folklore and religious history. The plates mix facsimiles of Greek curse tablets and inscribed amulets, rings and runic strips with simple pen drawings of a scribe at work and a flat-outlined early Christian scene, offering designers ready-made alphabets, sigils and diagrammatic object drawings.
