Old cottages, farm houses, and other half-timber buildings in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Cheshire
An architectural survey of vernacular half-timber houses in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Cheshire, drawn by architect Edward Augustus Ould with text by James Parkinson, published by B. T. Batsford in London in 1904 for architects, builders, and antiquarians. The monochrome plates show cottages and farmhouses in three-quarter view, with dark framing timbers gridded against white plaster panels, tall chimney stacks, and heavy gables against blank sky, useful as high-contrast pattern and silhouette material.
