Old and modern masters in the collection of M.C.D. Borden
A privately printed catalogue of Matthew C. D. Borden's New York picture collection, compiled with Wilhelm Valentiner and August Jaccaci in 1911 for the owner, fellow collectors, and dealers. Full-page photogravures show each painting inside its carved and gilded frame, so the usable material is less the dim landscapes and interiors than the rococo scrollwork, shells, and acanthus corners surrounding them.
