Old and new designs in crochet work
A pattern manual of crochet designs compiled by Sophie Tatum LaCroix and issued in 1900 by the St. Louis Fancy Work Co. for home needleworkers. The plates are photographs of finished lace laid flat against dark or plain grounds: scalloped edgings, filet-mesh insertions with rosette motifs, fringed runner ends and round doilies, all usable as high-contrast openwork borders, corner fills and repeating geometric grids.
