Collected writings on painting and art theory by Giovanni Andrea Lazzarini, painter and canon of Pesaro, printed there by Niccolò Gavelli in 1806 for artists, students and academies. The plates are engraved letterpress ornaments and ownership marks: trophies of palette, brushes, lyre, flute, laurel branches and rolled paper, plus an oval heraldic shield with tree and motto scroll and a dense woodcut-style library bookplate.
