Operum philosophicorum
A Latin collected works of natural philosophy by Jean-Baptiste Du Hamel, printed at Nuremberg by Johann Ziegler in 1681 for scholarly readers, with appended eclipse observations by Pierre Petit. The plates in the index are woodcut initial letters, mostly Q and T, set in square blocks of white-line foliate scrollwork that designers can lift as drop caps, borders, or repeatable ornament tiles.
