Opticks, or, A treatise of the reflections, refractions, inflections and colours of light
Newton's Opticks in its third English edition, printed in London in 1721 for William and John Innys, setting out his experiments on light, prisms and colour for natural philosophers and instrument makers. The folding plates are engraved line diagrams: ray bundles crossing lettered points, prisms and lenses in section, fringe patterns, and a divided colour circle, useful as spare geometric linework and lettered figure keys.
