Georg von Welling's German alchemical and cabalistic treatise on the origin and nature of salt, printed at Frankfurt am Main in 1719 for readers of hermetic theology. The plates are numbered hand-coloured diagrams: concentric planetary spheres with zodiac stars, nested triangles and hexagrams, half-filled circles labelled Wasser, and radiating suns in pink, green and ochre washes.
