A collector's survey of Oriental carpets, runners and rugs, with Jacquard-woven copies, written by Sydney Humphries and published by A. and C. Black in London in 1910 for connoisseurs and buyers of Eastern textiles. The plates are full-length colour photographs of whole carpets against plain grounds, showing prayer-niche arches with hanging lamps, boteh fields, diamond medallions on dark grounds and repeating Turkoman guls, each framed by multiple patterned borders usable as tileable fills, repeat units and border rules.
