Oriental rugs, antique and modern
A collector's handbook on Oriental carpets by Walter Augustus Hawley, published in New York by Dodd, Mead in 1922 for dealers, museum visitors and buyers. The plates are full-page photographs of whole rugs shown flat, dense with medallion lattices, garden and tree patterns, hooked diamonds and multiple guard borders that can be lifted as repeat motifs, frames or halftone texture.
