An antiquarian study by Filippo Buonarroti, printed in Florence in 1716, cataloguing gold-glass vessel fragments found in the Roman catacombs for scholars of early Christian and classical antiquity. Numbered copperplate engravings render each fragment as a circular medallion with chipped, irregular edges, filled with frontal figures, saints, married couples, chi-rho monograms and lettered inscriptions inside dotted, toothed and beaded borders.
