Osservazioni sopra l'opuscolo che ha per titolo Arte magica dileguata
A Venetian polemical pamphlet of 1750 by Andrea Lugiato, printed by Simone Occhi, arguing against Scipione Maffei's tract Arte magica dileguata for an audience of clergy and learned readers debating magic and witchcraft. The plates are typographic woodcut ornaments — symmetrical rococo cartouches with scrollwork, draped swags, tasseled fringe, covered urns and fruit baskets — plus the Boston Public Library donation seal in a laurel wreath, usable as headpieces, tailpieces and label frames.
