Claude H. Miller's Outdoor Sports and Games, published by Doubleday, Page in Garden City, New York, in 1911, instructs American boys in camping, boating, snowshoeing and field games. The pen drawings are heavy black-line vignettes with cropped figures, hatched shading and no background, useful as instructional spot art, equipment diagrams and silhouette-weight figures in motion.
