A 1911 treatise on stage conjuring by Nevil Maskelyne and David Devant, published in New York by E.P. Dutton for performing magicians and serious amateurs. Halftone photographs isolate pale hands against black grounds, palming coins, passing balls, and bunching a handkerchief, giving designers high-contrast cut-out gestures and coarse dot texture usable as silhouettes or diagrams.
