Oxford silver pennies from A.D.925-A.D.1272
A numismatic catalogue by Charles Lewis Stainer, printed for the Oxford Historical Society at the Clarendon Press in 1904, recording silver pennies struck at the Oxford mint between 925 and 1272 for collectors and local historians. The plates are halftone photographs of obverse and reverse pairs, numbered beneath, showing crowned profile and facing busts, voided and short-cross reverses, and legends of moneyers' and kings' names in Anglo-Saxon lettering.
