De danske runemindesmaerker, forklarede
A Danish scholarly survey of runic monuments by P. G. Thorsen, published in Copenhagen in 1864 for antiquarians and philologists reading the inscriptions of Denmark. The plates are shaded line drawings of standing stones, each carved face recorded with its runic bands, cross and ring ornament, chipped edges and stippled texture — usable as alphabets, textured silhouettes and incised border motifs.
