Pacific service magazine
Pacific Service Magazine was the in-house monthly of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, issued in San Francisco from 1912 for utility employees, customers and the electrical trade. Its line engravings mix labelled product cut-outs of early domestic appliances — percolators, electric irons, milk warmers, toasters, chafing dishes — with sectional diagrams of steam and pumping plant, giving designers clean black-on-cream silhouettes and cutaway machinery drawings with captions set beneath.
