The painters of Florence from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century
A survey of Florentine painting from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century by Julia Cartwright Ady, published in New York and London by E. P. Dutton in 1915 for general readers and students of Italian art. The plates are halftone photographs of panel paintings and frescoes, printed dark and often cropped to details: Annunciations in arcaded loggias, seated Madonnas with children and saints, gold-rayed haloes, and wooded nativity landscapes.
