The painters of the school of Ferrara
An art-historical survey of Ferrarese and Bolognese Renaissance painters by Edmund Garratt Gardner, published in London and New York in 1911 for collectors and students of Italian art. The 39 halftone plates reproduce altarpieces and panel paintings: enthroned Madonnas under carved arches, angel musicians with lutes, kneeling donors, and garlanded putti, useful for period costume, ornament and figure-group compositions.
