Painters, pictures and the people
Eugen Neuhaus, a German-born painter teaching at Berkeley, wrote these essays on painting, public taste and modern movements for lay readers in California; Philopolis Press issued them in San Francisco in 1918. The scanned pages are letterpress text in a warm-toned old-style roman with generous leading and deep margins, useful as period type specimens, page-texture scans and backgrounds.
