A handbook of artists and their works by Clara Erskine Clement, published in Boston by Houghton, Mifflin in 1901 for American general readers and art students. The 98 plates are wood-engraved and line reproductions after paintings, reliefs and drawings: altarpiece compositions with clouds and angels, outline processions of robed figures and children, and framed relief panels of the Passion, useful for crosshatched tonal figure groups and clean contour crowd scenes.
