A technical manual by Felix Hermann, published in London by Scott, Greenwood in 1897, instructing glass painters, enamellers and ceramic decorators in preparing colours and fluxes and firing their work. The plates are wood-engraved sectional diagrams of muffle kilns and furnaces, keyed with italic letters, combining ruled hatching, brick coursing and blank interior voids that can be lifted as line-art shapes, texture fills or lettered schematic layouts.
