Palatial homes in the city of New York and dwellers there in ... arranged for the convenience of the passer-by
A 1910 New York guide by Isabel Hamilton listing Manhattan's grand private houses and their occupants, laid out as a street-by-street reference for pedestrians. The halftone photographs show corner mansions in brick and stone — mansard roofs, bay windows, area railings, gas lamps and bare street trees — useful for Gilded Age facade detail, urban streetscape backgrounds and sepia photographic texture.
